About TrueScreenTest
Simple screen tests you can open on any device and use straight away.
What the site does
TrueScreenTest is a small kit of focused display tests:
- The touch screen test draws wherever you touch, fills in a grid as you cover the screen, and shows each finger separately in multi-touch mode.
- The dead pixel test, backlight bleed test and burn-in test fill the screen with solid fields for inspecting by eye.
- The refresh rate test and ghosting test time and animate frames to show how motion looks on your display.
- The screen color test shows solid colors, grayscale steps and gradients.
The screen test page brings them together with a two-minute quick check.
How it works
Each tool is a static web page. The testing happens in your browser using standard web features: pointer events for touch, the Fullscreen API, frame timing, and drawing on a canvas. There is no account, no download and no app to install, and the tools don’t ask for camera, location or any other permission.
Touch positions are used only to draw on your screen. They are not stored or sent anywhere. The privacy page explains exactly what is and isn’t collected.
What the tools can’t do
A web page only sees what your browser and operating system pass to it. These tools help you look and touch methodically, but they can’t diagnose a hardware fault, repair a screen, measure touch latency or certify that a display is free of defects. If you find a problem, the manufacturer, retailer or a repair service is the right next step.
